# Call

Call is launching: vAPI Network's API directory lets buyers discover APIs and pay per request with x402 and USDC.

This page is for API buyers, agents, and providers who want to use the Call directory and payment path.

Call is a directory and non-custodial payment surface for x402-paid APIs. You pay per call in USDC from your own wallet, and you do not need an account to pay.

Status: launching. The console does not serve Call yet; this tab describes the launch flow.

Call groups listings by source and ranks results within each group. Discovery is free. The live x402 challenge from the provider is the source of truth for the amount, network, asset, and payee.

## For agents

Install the client:

```bash
npm i -g vapi-network
```

Agents can use `call.search`, `call.inspect`, and `call.pay` through MCP. Local account caps and `maxPriceUsd` bound payments.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.vapinetwork.ai/call/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
