# Stake and unstake

Stake is coming soon; the planned console flow covers approvals, staking, unstake requests, and withdrawals after the cooldown.

{% hint style="info" %}
Stake is coming soon. This page describes how it works at launch.
{% endhint %}

Use the console `/stake` page to stake vAPI, request an unstake, and withdraw after the cooldown. The page also shows your active stake, pending amount, reviewer-gate eligibility, and Compute for today.

## Stake vAPI

1. Open the [Stake page](https://api.vapinetwork.ai/stake).
2. Connect the wallet that holds the vAPI you want to stake.
3. Enter an amount and select **Stake**.
4. If the allowance is too low, approve the exact amount shown in your wallet. Then confirm the stake transaction.
5. Keep the transaction dialog open until the chain confirms the transaction.

The **Your stake** card shows your active stake, your share of the stake used for the daily pool, total staked, and the staker count. If a reviewer gate is configured, the card shows the threshold before you connect a wallet. After you connect, it shows either "Eligible" or the stake still needed.

## Request an unstake

1. Enter an amount under **Amount to withdraw**.
2. Select **Request withdrawal**.
3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

The page removes the requested amount from your active stake immediately. It shows the pending amount and the time until `availableAt`. Only one pending withdrawal is allowed at a time, so the amount field is disabled while one is pending.

## Withdraw after the cooldown

When `availableAt` has passed, the page shows **Withdraw now**. Select it and confirm the transaction. The pending amount is transferred back to the wallet that made the request.

## Check Compute

The **Compute from your stake** card shows today's Router usage limit and a projection for the next snapshot. The projection uses the active stake, total stake, protocol-wallet exclusions, daily pool, cap, and floor. You can enter an additional stake amount to preview the next projection. The card also links to Router keys and the Router quickstart.

The stake form and Compute projection use your connected wallet. Today's Compute figure uses your signed-in wallet. Sign in with your staking wallet to see today's Compute.

## Buyback and burn

The Buyback and burn card shows Base mainnet buyback spending and burned vAPI. It also shows routed fees and tokens awaiting burn. The card lists recent receipts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.vapinetwork.ai/stake/stake-and-unstake.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
